About
Joyce Alexander is a mixed-media artist working primarily in acrylic and watercolor. Her practice includes original works as well as studies of influential artists such as Beatrix Potter, which serve as a foundation for exploring technique, composition, and narrative. Through this balance of study and invention, she aims to create work that is both informed by tradition and distinctly personal.
Joyce also teaches art to grammar school children and enjoys sharing her techniques and love for art with young artists.
She resides in the City of Trees with her husband, 3 children and their Boston Terrier. Joyce enjoys classic literature, jazz and folk music and traveling to far away places.
